This is an algebra-based, introductory college-level physics course. It is a full-year course oriented to prepare students for the study of physics in college and the AP Physics 1 exam. 学生 who choose not to take the AP Physics 1 exam are still welcome to enroll in the course; they will have an adapted set of assignments and grades but the same range of content.
This course explores topics such as Newtonian mechanics applied to linear, 圆形, and harmonic motion; work, 能源, and power; mechanical waves and sound; and an introduction to simple electric circuits. Hands-on laboratory work is part of every unit of study. To meet the expectations on the AP exam, students will practice solving problems, answering conceptual questions, writing laboratory reports, and developing their own experiments.
Prerequisites: 有关微积分的知识 preferred or 代数2 with faculty approval
