美联社生物学 is an introductory college-level biology course. This course’s foundation rests on the four Big Ideas:
- The process of 进化 drives the diversity and unity of life.
- Biological systems utilize energy to grow, reproduce, and maintain life.
- Living systems store, retrieve, transmit and respond to information essential to life processes.
- Biological systems interact with other biological systems.

Emphasis is placed on extensive laboratory experiences that apply scientific knowledge. 学生 will write formal lab reports and analyze scientific data throughout the course. 美联社生物学 students should expect to complete reading assignments outside of class related to scientific articles and participate in research-based projects. The equivalent of a two-semester college-level 生物学 course, 美联社生物学 is designed to prepare students for the AP examination in May and further study in science.
